Panoz DeltaWing Racing will start eighth in tomorrow’s two hour and 40-minute IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship event. Katherine Legge improved the lap time throughout the qualifying session, ending with a lap time of 1:14.077.
Legge and Sean Rayhall made impressive showings on the timing charts during yesterday’s practice sessions. Working through modifications on-track and looking at the data between sessions, Legge, Rayhall and team manager Tim Keene experimented with the DeltaWing’s set-up ahead of tomorrow’s Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix at the 2.459mile Canadian Tire Motorsport Park track.
Last year, this race was the breakthrough the team needed after the reliability issues had plagued the earlier half of the year. The team are looking to improve on last year’s result, following a strong performance at the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen in New York state last weekend.
Fans will be able to watch the race live on Fox Sports 1 and the FOX Sports Go app from 11:00am Eastern Time tomorrow morning.
“Qualifying was an experiment for us and although it didn’t go the direction we hoped we now feel confident with the direction to move forward.”
